Rory Hunt, Principal of Ungarra Primary School had the following to say about the mural.
“Our school absolutely cherishes the mural. Bec consulted parents, staff and students to ensure the mural encapsulated our kitchen/garden program and the surrounding nature of our school. This was also an ode to our Excellence and Equity award of 2023 which we are so proud of. The multiple changes that Bec made to suit our context and to tell a story of how things change and grow (eg. flowers to fruit, eggs to caterpillar to butterflies etc.) was a credit to Bec and her creativity. The colour scheme really stands out and the mural looks fantastic when viewed from the oval as you can see the 2 main sides with plenty of colour highlighted. Bec was excellent at communication. She would let me know when she would be on site working, how the project was going in regard to timelines and any changes that would need to be made. I really appreciated her calm and approachable nature and she was always a positive communicator. Bec kept to timelines well. Due to weather the project took a little longer than first expected however it was excellent to have this project done by the end of the school year and to do a special mural opening. Bec would keep me updated on how things were going in regard to timelines which was important to know. I know Bec put in many hours to this mural and it shows as the detail of each element is there to show. I highly recommend Rebecca Palmer for future mural projects as she has now created two beautiful masterpieces at our site in which we are extremely happy with.
